No figure in the Microsoft Word file but an object link annotation

I suddenly lost all the figure in my Microsoft Word file during the writing of my manuscript.

  


I was sure that it was happened right after I hit certain combination of keys accidently but I couldn't figure out how to toggle it off and even worse, most answers from web search were about old version of office or some menu-option which wasn't related to my situation.

And finally, I found the correct answer (which is ALT+F9, by the way) from the user name 'garfield-n-odie'

I left the link and note here because it was a bit troublesome for me to find this answer over net.
